Coline Worthy
President
Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction Cleburne County Schools
I currently serve as the Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction for the Cleburne County School District. I am responsible for overseeing all academic subjects at all levels (Pre-K – 12), planning and executing professional development opportunities for professional and support staff, and overseeing the accreditation process. In addition, I serve as counseling and guidance coordinator and accountability coordinator. I am district contact for ARI, AMSTI, and other individual initiatives. I manage these varied responsibilities by building, nurturing and sustaining collaborative working relationships with teachers, administrative colleagues, support staff members, and Board members. As community education coordinator I work to involve all stakeholders in the education process. I diligently pursue grant opportunities in all content areas for our schools for PreK through 12th grades.
Before coming to Cleburne County in 2013, I taught 2nd grade (self-contained) and 5th through 8th grades English Language Arts for a period of eight years. I was fortunate to have worked at an ARI demonstration site early in my career and eventually became Reading Coach at Coosa County Elementary. In 2007, I completed my Reading Specialist certification and then worked in a regional capacity with the ARI. Afterward, I earned my Instructional Leadership certification at Jacksonville State University.
I am passionate about professional learning and enjoy learning with colleagues. I am excited to have the opportunity to serve on the Learning Forward Alabama Board of Directors.
