Dana Payne Martin is an educator in the Shelby County School District. Her 34 years of service include the role of teacher, assistant principal, principal and currently the Superivisor of School Improvement and Federal Programs. She works with all 30 schools in Shelby County leading continuous school improvement. She also serves as the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Coordinator and Title I Family Engagement Coordinator. A current passion in her job includes leading out a Shelby County initiative called Inspiring a Generation which is bringing Leader in Me to all schools in the district.
Dana is currently serving as president-elect on the Learning Forward of Alabama Board of Directors. As president-elect, one of her major responsibilites will be to plan the upcoming annual conference on November 15-16, 2018 at the Hyatt Wyfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dana and her husband live in Pelham, Alabama along with their dog, Charli. They are the proud parents of 5 children and 6 grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Spending time with this family is a favorite, relaxing adventure.
